Project Description

Victoria Park is a condominium complex. The strata requested a full reclad of the two older buildings containing 120 suites.

Touwslager Engineering met with the strata council on several occasions and the general direction was to leave the overall appearance the same as making changes may not be accepted by all owners and could increase the cost. Vinyl siding was installed throughout except wood shakes were detailed in all the original feature areas. New windows were provided and the balconies were resloped for proper drainage. Careful detailing was required to ensure the rainscreen and drainage systems were continuous at all transitions. The main flat roof and sloped roofs were retained as they still had a few more years in their lifespan. The before and after photos show the change in quality, in part as evidenced by proper sheet metal flashings and outside mounted guards.
